MATTER AND ITS PROPERTIESScience interpret nature in terms of energy and matter. Matter, the material of which the universe is composed,is defined as anything that has mass and occupies space. Mass is a measure of quantity of matter.
The mass of a body which determined by means of an analytical balance is invariable, while the weight of a body is not.
What is the gravitational force of Attraction exerted by the earth on a body the weight given of a body varies with the distance of that body from the centre of the Earth. The weight of a body is directly proportional to its mass as well as the Earth gravitational attraction.
Matter exist in three physical States which are gas liquid and solid.
A gas maintains neither volume nor shape: but completely fills any container which it is introduced and may be expanded or compressed within relatively wide limits.
A liquid has no fixed shape,but assumes the shape of the container only within the limit of the volume it occupies (definite volume). Volumes of a liquid do not vary greatly with changes in temperature and pressure.
A solid under ordinary condition maintains definite volume and shape.observed variations in the volume of solids with changes in temperature and pressure are very small.
All matter can change from one state to another when heated or cooled. An example is water.

🤓 The kind of 4th state of matter is missing: plasma. 😉
Yeah that's why I said you can also write your own opinion on the topic matter in the comments section.
This is a please where you can learn and teach on your own opinion about the topic posted.
We're all here to learn and I don't know everything thank you for engaging near ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Our Earth is in Space but the atmosphere doesn't fill all of outer space. These assertions are testable in a lab but there are extreme cases where these rules can breakdown.
@leprechaun
What case does this rules not applied to?
I would like to know more from you
One idea is that liquid will always take up the shape of a container. If you have a tube in a bathtub and if you submerge it, you can lift the closed tube up and the water will remain in the tube so long as the open end is still in the water.
Okay so it fills the shape of the container. That sounds good. But what if it's mercury and the tube is longer than 760 mm? In this case, the mercury will stay up to 760 mm above the level of the mercury but above that there will be a vacuum in the closed part of the tube at the top. This magic height is related to the density of the material (mercury) and the amount of atmospheric pressure.
Perhaps it is rather complex for young school children but as adults we should recognize things get overly simplified.
