PARNASSUS MOUNTAIN

 Parnassus is a mountain of Sterea Hellas, which extends to the prefectures of Viotia, Fthiotida and Fokida. It has a maximum height of 2.457 meters, one of the highest mountains in Greece. Its length reaches about 38 km and its width is 37 km.

 A total area of 184,000 acres  of which 36,000 acres belong to the Parnassos National Park  with a higher peak in Liakoura  one of the highest mountains in the country. The climate is continental, with heavy winter, rainy spring, dry summer and wet autumn.Is characterized by the rugged mountain peaks and the roughness of the soil  impressive  sinks, dolines, cisterns, caves and karstic basins (Efstostomos, Korykio  Andros, Agoriani sink, Neraidospilia, Snowdrop, etc.) 

 Parnassos is  known mainly for the Ski Center but anyone who visits him during the  rest of the year sees that he has much more to offer.  Paths ideal for hiking or cycling, impressive caves, accessible peaks and points with magical views.Parnassos is one  of the most beautiful mountains in Greece, overlooking Kefalonitic fir  trees with dense vegetation and rare natural beauty that fascinates the  visitor all year round.
