Thaaaazzz Right Wankers. My first job was flipping burgers off da grill and onto buns at the world famous McDonalds restaurant franchise. A $3.35 an hour Gig that at 16 years of age in the evenings after school robbed me of what little free time and childhood life I had left. A shitty job for a Kid in a shitty situation. But the shitty little bit of monies it payed was like striking it rich big time for a kid with absolutely nothing. It bought me my first car and made me feel like a king.

I worked in a supermarket as my first job, was thirteen. Picked up a few hours here and there and the money was good. Gave me an appreciation of the reward for effort ethos.

I think most our age did something like that. These days with self checkout and home delivery and so on the jobs are harder to find - less staff required.

I remember that when I was a teenager, I tried to drop off my resume at a McDonald’s. There was a huge pile of papers, and they told me to put it there. I told them that with so many people applying, it was unlikely they’d call me, so I took it back—maybe I was lucky that time.

I only speak Spanish, so I copy and paste it into translation tools. Often I'm not sure if the idea I'm trying to convey is understood as I intend, haha. I try at least two translation tools, and sometimes I struggle with that.
