Purchasing ETH or BTC using CEX.io
Sometimes it can be quite challenging for people from countries outside of the northern hemisphere or those in Africa and Asia to purchase Ethereum or Bitcoin from some of the popular sites online. The issues can vary from financial restrictions to unsupported cards or other issues.
One site that i have discovered that allows this is CEX.io which allows inclusion for a lot of countries which would otherwise have been neglected. I would guide you through setting up an account and purchasing BTC or ETH from CEX.io.
OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH CEX.io
Step 1: Register
- Click on register and fill out your email and password, check the box to agree with the terms and check the captcha box. You would be sent a confirmation PIN via SMS or a phone call enter that into the next screen.
Step 2: Deposit funds
- You would then need to add a card to your account. Select cards from the top menu and click on add new card. Enter the card details and complete the process.
- Once you've added your card then you can deposit some money. Click on the deposit button at the top right corner. Select the card and then enter the amount you would like deposit.
- Verify that the funds have been added. You would see the current balance at the top right corner.
Step 3: Purchase ETH or BTC
- Finally you are ready to purchase ETH or BTC . We would be purchasing ETH. Click on the Buy/Sell menu. Select ETH. Enter the amount of coins to purchase and click on the buy button.
- Now that we have purchased our ETH coins we need to transfer it to our wallet to ensure that it is safely stored. Do not make the mistake of leaving your ETH coins on an Exchange unless you intend to partake in active trading.
- Click on finance scroll to the bottom find ETH then click on the Withdraw button. Enter the amount you would like to withdraw and the address you would like to withdraw to. This address should be your MyEtherwallet address. Click on the buy button. A verification email would be sent to your registered email address click on that to finalize the transfer.
- Finally verify your transaction on etherscan.io paste your MyEtherwallet address into the text box at the top right hand corner and run a search you should see your most recent transaction showing up in the main window.
