Hey, Y'all!
whispers... Just in case ya can't tell from that opening line, I'm a Suth'uhn gal!
Born & raised in Arkansas, I'm a 50-year old coffee-loving, elementary teaching momma who's looking forward to an early retirement in a few years. Yep! I've decided that there's a whole lot more to life than working and paying bills, so I plan to become debt-free and bow out of the rat race early!
I walked out of an abusive marriage a few years ago and my youngest is about to graduate this year. For the first time in my entire life, I'm going to be completely on my own and I'm looking around wondering who the heck I am! I realize that I've been so consumed with raising kids, battling through a toxic marriage, and working to pay the bills that I've lost track of ME through the years.
So what's a girl to do?
She throws herself onto a new social media platform and blogs her way through the next chapter of her life, of course!
What will I be writing about?
Dangitall! Your guess is as good as mine! LOL
Pretty sure my Steemit adventures will include family life, country living, self help, personal finance, and showcasing products from my online gift shops from time to time. Oh! And coffee! I'll probably mention coffee on more than one occasion!

You don't know how impatient I was for this approval. I've been devouring Steem for the past week and STILL have no idea how everything works, but I'm excited to finally start learning about crypto and getting away from places like Facebook.

Welcome to Steemit. Abuse is a tough thing to deal with. I was in an abusive relationship a while back too, narcissistic abuse. It's been over a decade, but I still suffer from CPTSD from the trauma I experience. I talk a lot about healing and self-empowerment, gaming, and silly stuff ;)

Sorry to hear that you dealt with such trauma. Mine was more mental than physical, but I definitely know what you mean about dealing with the fallout. I’ve always been a positive person, but I really have to catch myself veering over into self-doubt territory now. 😕

Yeah, it's tough. I fell into self-loathing. I had to work my way out of that hole to learn to love myself. It's such a relief when I can catch myself and step out before falling. And when I feel I might still fall, my husband catches me and helps me get my bearings back. He lends a hand, but I still do the climbing. It's a good climb ;)
