The mirror effect: When Hive accounts only talk to themselves...
High-fiving urself: a smart move or a moral fail? 🤔
Is it a Vibe or a Red Flag? 🚩 Let’s Talk About Bot Ethics
📊 The Vibe Check Poll at post end📊
What do u think it says about a person's character when they vote a lot their own bot comments?
The "Maximizer": It’s just smart business, who cares about ethics?
The "Loner": It shows they don’t really want to be part of the community.
The "Red Flag": It makes them look greedy and untrustworthy as a friend.
The "Ghost": It’s boring and takes rewards away from real creators.
drop a comment below n tell me... would u follow someone if u saw them doing this?? i rly want to understand the heart of hive better. stay lovely!! 🌸

Hey everyone!! Hope ur all having a beautiful day. Lately i’ve been spending more time looking at the "behind the scenes" of hive. Not just the posts, but the actual heart of the chain... the votes.
I’m a big believer that how v act on-chain shows who v r in real life. It’s like a digital personality test, right?? If someone is always helping others, u know they r kind. But today i saw something that made me stop and think. I was looking at stayout.bot and its creator stayoutoftherz.
V all know bots r supposed to be tools. maybe for curation or for fun. But when i looked at the rewards, it seemed like the owner was just voting on the bot’s comments over and over. It felt like... a loop? Like someone standing in front of a mirror and high-fiving themselves all day long lol.
I m not here to throw dirt or be mean. But it made me wonder about the personality of an account like that. When v r trying to make friends or find ppl to trust, what does this behavior say??
To me, it feels like a red flag for a friendship. If someone is so focused on their own "loop" that they don't look outside to help real humans, are they actually part of the community?? Or r they just a ghost in the machine? Whether it is a whale or a tiny account, the choice to do this shows a lot about what they value. Is it just about the money, or is it about the people??
I think v should care about who v follow and who v support. If someone is using a bot to quietly pull rewards without adding real value, it feels like they r wearing a mask at a party just to steal the snacks. I want to be around ppl who r transparent and ethical.
That’s why i wanted to do a little poll. I really want to know what the "vibe" is for the rest of the community. Is this just "smart business" or is it a moral fail?? V build this place together, so your opinion matters a lot to me!!

STOPThanks, @liftcurtain for taking care about ethics on Hive, but unfortunately you didn´t see the full picture!
First of all, I do not "only" vote my bot, I voted and supported hundreds of new and old users over the last years. What did you so far for Hive? Did you ever invest a penny? Also, it is not true that the bot has no value. It shows e.g. what happened in the last 24h by using the command !stayout.bot -new.
By this I one can find new users and posts like this one 😀
Secondly, the bot was downvoted massively to a reputation of minus, because one user did not like the welcome messages. I removed those and upvoted the bot again to keep it´s reputation in the plus zone and to ensure it´s visibility (if rep is minus, a user/comment is not shown by default).
Finally, any rewards will be burned by sending them to @null, despite the server costs. Partial powerdown started to burn some more, I keep a rest to have enough RC for doing comments.
So, you maybe better overthink all your accusations about greediness, because I have taken zero profits from those upvotes.

wow, thanks for the long reply @stayoutoftherz! it’s so cool that hive lets a "newbie" like me chat directly with a senior user. i rly love the power of this blockchain!! 🌸
I saw the @null transfers and that is great! But i m still curious... even if author rewards are burned, doesn't the voter still get "curation rewards" in HP? if those stay in your wallet, is it still a 100% burn? i'm just trying to learn the math!
also, if the community downvoted the bot, isn't 'forcing' the reputation back up with your own votes kind of ignoring what everyone wanted? it feels like turning the music up when the neighbors asked for quiet lol. 🚩
u asked what i invested... i’ve invested my heart and time. v have seen so many other chains fail because they only cared about money. when the money stops, they die because they have no soul. hive is special because it’s about humans, not just wallets.
my post wasn't an accusation of 'theft,' just a vibe check. even with a burn, the loop feels a bit insular. i just want hive to be a place where v support each other, not just our own bots!
have a lovely day!! 🌸
Many users told me the bot was a good idea, and also the welcome messages were well received. Just one user sabotaged it and I took the right to counteract it. So I don´t think that user spoke for "the community". Have you evidence for this? BTW we have here many communities not only one.
True, the curation rewards stay with me, but they would as well, if I had instead curated other posts, this is part of how Hive works.
If you would have checked out my blog then you would have seen that I indeed put lots of time and passion into my posts, but Hive is an investment for me as well, I had spent a lot of self-earned money into it to achieve such a stake in first place. Hobby and return on investment do not exclude one another and if someone immediately flags me without prior talking, then I just react.
You may want to rewrite your poll to reflect more the actual situation.
@liftcurtains, can you please rewrite the post and remove accusations of greediness and questioning of my character?
I just took a peek at your blog like u suggested!. I see u write a lot in German and have so many cool posts about Chess. ♟️
I don't speak German and i’m not very good at chess (yet! lol), but i can really see the passion u put into your hobbies. About the poll, since the post is already 5 days old and so close to payout, i think it’s probably best to just leave it as it is for now. First i thought that i should edit/delete my post after receiving your comments but then i decided to leave as it is. So if someone else reads my post n ur comments then he too can learn n realize the real picture. I ve really learned a lot from this conversation.
I will make sure my future post shows the "full picture" u shared with me, especially about the problems caused by mass downvotes from a single account without any prior communication. I realy love that hive has room for both investment and "heart." V might see things from different angles because i'm new, but i can tell v both want the chain to succeed.
I m glad that u patiently n wisely cleared my misconceptions. I’d much rather be friends than argue on the blockchain lol. Hope u have a wonderful day and thanks again for the "hive lesson"!! 🌸
Don't worry i will definitely cover all this in my next post.
Pero al final el dueño del bot está retirando de estaca los HP. Entonces no es que realmente quemara sus recompensas.

Somehow I doubt about you having "invested my heart and time". Your activity here on Hive shows otherwise. Doesn´t support your case. Spreading misinformation about a user and then disappearing...
