UBUNTU MATE 18.10 OVERVIEW | FOR A RETROSPECTIVE FUTURE
Ubuntu MATE is a desktop Linux distribution which aims to deliver the ease and sophistication of the Ubuntu operating system via a timeless, traditional desktop computer environment - the MATE desktopcomputer. MATE is the continuation of the GNOME 2 desktop environment that was utilized as Ubuntu's default desktop computer until 10.10 (as it had been substituted by Unity). The project started its life as an Ubuntu"remix", but beginning with version 15.04, it had been officially accepted as a formal member of the Ubuntu family of Linux distributions.
