Today’s brain-breaking moment:

Had a legit staggering realization today. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been doomscrolling and channel-surfing through the media chaos. I had to take a walk just to run a quick mental sanity check—you know, to make sure the noise hasn’t brainwashed me.

And the diagnosis is… unsettling. On one hand, it feels like millions of us are operating from a place of good faith and genuine moral values. But the political opposition—the GOP, it’s hard to see anything but a playbook of bad faith, disinformation, and a relentless hunger for power. It’s like we’re not even the same species.

I’ve never been naive about their tactics, but the real twist wasn’t seeing their corruption. It was realizing I couldn’t see their humanity anymore.

For context, my whole ethos is built on empathy and compassion. But some switch just flipped in my head. The new rule I’m apparently operating on is:

**if you actively and intentionally harm other people, you get your human card revoked. **

It’s a shocking and uncomfortable feeling, but I can’t shake it. This isn’t just a political disagreement anymore; it feels like a battle for the very definition of humanity.

It’s a heavy thought, and honestly, a pretty dark place to be. Is anyone else wrestling with how to hold onto compassion when the other side feels so fundamentally inhumane?
