What to do next?
Hi All
after long time playing @dcitygame and getting a decent town, now no more incomes are available for us!
Just few cents of hive due to I am in the top 400 population users, but all my effort to build my town it seems this game is coming to a round trip, what will be next?
The game owner, after long time of pleasure with cards crazy printing like the first edition, now it just watch the game going down without doing anything.
How you can pretend to get new users if the taxes now are 100%???
All serious companies, when there are troubles, put some money to save it, but it seems @gerber is not interested to do it, so after one year of incomes, now leave all people alone and asking to buy more SIM to increase value and decrease tax, WTF!?!?
It is easy to enjoy when money comes and run away when money gone, so this is not a play, this is a SCAM!
I hope in a quickly action from the owner, the third edition cards came too late and it seems now new version of game is more complicated and it isn't user friendly, the previous version was more simple and easy!
What do you want to suggest to @gerber in order to escape from this situation?

The 100% tax won't be permanent, and chucking in money alone isn't going to save a game. New features and strengthening a community is what saves a game. The dev team is now doing a better job with the former, but could do a better job with facilitating the latter.
Also, Dcity apparently printed about 1.6 million cards. That is a lot, but not nearly as much as many other NFT games (e.g. Splinterlands). For sure, we cannot call is a scam, because the gameplay is real and the team has been VERY honest about their intentions and plans.

I do not want to discuss about dev team which did an hard work for sure, but when a game sell card at 800 SIM value and if you want sell back to the game owner he give you just 30 SIM, something is really wrong!
This game have not any solid base, he only took others money and played with it, 1.6 million card x 800 SIM how much it is?

I don't track the exact amount, but I'm just outside the Top 60 with my city.
Most cards go for much more than 30 SIM on the market. In fact, I believe people can actually make a profit (on average) when buying cards from packs and selling them on the market. For instance, @desyfit has been doing that quite frequently, and I'm sure they wouldn't do that if there was no profit in it.
In regards to your last sentence, there are two things: (1) I think DCity turned around about $700k from card purchases, but most of that has been handed back to the players through SIM that has been recycled in payouts. (2) You clearly don't like the game, and it's fine to sell your city and use the Hive to play a different game. But as I mentioned in my previous post, it is not correct to call it a scam.

Dear @notaboutme, I am very surprise about your believe on this method of build up a game, all cards printed has been sold to people who bought them from game owner, than market is only a way to make this cards salable because anybody will never sell a card you bought with 800 sim for 30 sim!
So 1.6 million cards are 1280 million sim the owner got for this, do you think all those money gone for game development and payouts?

No, the developer takes a 20% cut I believe. He has been quite upfront about that as well.
And not all cards go for 30 SIM. The less common ones go for 10000 SIM or more.
Actually, if the average price level on the market (weighted by rarity) becomes less than 800 SIM per card, then everyone is better off buying straight from the market.
And more recently, I have noticed more and more people buying off the market rather than printing cards, because the SIM-heavy cards have dropped in price recently.
But the card stacks on the market aren't deep at all, so I expect the SIM prices to rise a bit again pretty soon.
