Have you read the book The 5 Love Languages?
"Love can be expressed and received in all five languages. However, if you don't speak a person's primary love language, that person will not feel loved, even though you may be speaking the other four. Once you are speaking his or her primary love language fluently, then you can sprinkle in the other four and they will be like icing on the cake. "

I think it should be required marriage reading material!
I think what a lot of people don't understand and where the whole 5 languages thing comes into play is that they think that "loving someone" is just one way to do it, and most often than not they project their own understanding of it towards their partner.
Thats so true! We end up giving love to others how we want to receive love.
