Now, having this photo, every earthling can appreciate the beauty of the star cluster NGC 1866, located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, at a distance of about 163 thousand light years from Earth.

This cluster was discovered in the nineteenth century by the Scottish astronomer James Dunlop, but so far researchers still know little about it. Scattered star clusters are considered the main space objects by which scientists study stellar evolution.
