Starting new paths| My presentation for Hive

Mi nombre es Luis Santiago Rojas Velásquez, tengo 23 años. Nací en Cumaná-Estado Sucre un 3 de octubre de 1997; mis padres son Jorge Luis Rojas González y Zonia Esther Velásquez Rodríguez.

Desde pequeño siempre he sido soñador y diligente, me gustaba siempre ir al mercado con mis padres y participar en las tareas de casa. En un principio en mi casa éramos 4 papá, mamá, mi hermanita pequeña y yo; en un abrir y cerrar de ojos nuestra vida cambió, mis padres se divorcian y mi núcleo familiar se convirtió en mamá, mi hermanita Camila @cami.rojas y yo; juntos comenzamos a sobrellevar el día a día y a crecer.

My name is Luis Santiago Rojas Velásquez, I am 23 years old. I was born in Cumaná-Sucre State on October 3, 1997; my parents are Jorge Luis Rojas González and Zonia Esther Velásquez Rodríguez.

Since I was a child I have always been a dreamer and diligent, I always liked to go to the market with my parents and participate in household chores. At the beginning in my house we were 4 dad, mom, my little sister and me; in the blink of an eye our life changed, my parents divorced and my family nucleus became mom, my little sister Camila @cami.rojas and me; together we started to cope with the day to day and grow up.

Mi infancia se fue fugazmente en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, en mi casa estaba pendiente de todo y cuidaba a mi hermanita a quien siempre he sentido responsable por ser la pequeña, trataba de que los problemas no perturbaran su aura y su infancia. Con el tiempo entendí que todo lo que vivimos nos va formando y nos convierte en la persona que somos, hoy en día agradezco cada tropiezo y cada responsabilidad que desde pequeño se me dió porque quizás es lo que me ha permitido avanzar.

Ahora bien les cuento un poco sobre mí, tengo actualmente 23 años me describo como una persona responsable, soñadora y luchadora; desde el año 2014 salgo de bachiderato egresado como Bachiller en Ciencias y Tecnologías, graduado con honores e inmediatamente en septiembre de ese mismo año siguiendo mi pasión por la ciencia y el servicio a las demás personas, entro a estudiar medicina en la Universidad de Oriente, Núcleo de Anzoátegui; razón por la cual, desde ese momento me mudo de Cumaná Estado Sucre a Puerto la Cruz Estado Anzoátegui. En un principio el cambio fue abrupto pues supongo que pocos están preparados para la soledad, yo particularmente extrañaba a mi familia en todo momento, pero mi determinación a lograr mis sueños inculcada por mi madre, me permitió afrontar esa realidad y poco a poco ocuparme de mi vida universitaria.

My childhood was fleetingly gone in the blink of an eye, at home I was aware of everything and took care of my little sister who I have always felt responsible for being the little one, I tried to make sure that problems did not disturb her aura and her childhood. With time I understood that everything we live is shaping us and makes us the person we are, today I am grateful for every stumble and every responsibility that I was given since I was a child because perhaps that is what has allowed me to move forward.

Now I tell you a little about myself, I am currently 23 years old, I describe myself as a responsible person, dreamer and fighter; since 2014 I graduated from high school as Bachelor of Science and Technology, graduated with honors and immediately in September of that same year following my passion for science and service to others, I enter to study medicine at the University of Oriente, Anzoátegui Nucleus; reason why, from that moment I moved from Cumana State Sucre to Puerto la Cruz Anzoátegui State. At first the change was abrupt because I guess few are prepared for loneliness, I particularly missed my family at all times, but my determination to achieve my dreams instilled by my mother, allowed me to face that reality and gradually take care of my college life.

Actualmente curso el 11vo Semestre de medicina; tengo una relación estable con mi prometida Maireth Hernández quien cursa también la misma carrera. En mi caminar por la universidad honestamente les digo que me ha cambiado la vida, creo en la academia como herramienta esencial para la construcción de nuestro futuro, formarme en la Universidad de Oriente me ha permitido liberar mi mente y entender que todos tenemos un papel importante que desempeñar en nuestra sociedad. Eso me llevo con los años a convertirme en dirigente estudiantil para defender la universidad que tanto me ha dado y para ir siendo un factor generador de cambio en la nueva sociedad que se debe construir en Venezuela, esperemos que sea más justa, más equilibrada y menos polarizada. También con el transitar por la universidad no solo he aprendido de medicina, también he reforzado mis valores y principios ciudadanos, me gusta entender la política porque solo así aseguró estar formado integralmente.

I am currently in my 11th semester of medicine; I have a stable relationship with my fiancée Maireth Hernandez who is also studying the same career. I believe in academia as an essential tool for the construction of our future. Being educated at the Universidad de Oriente has allowed me to free my mind and understand that we all have an important role to play in our society. That led me over the years to become a student leader to defend the university that has given me so much and to be a factor generating change in the new society that must be built in Venezuela, hopefully more just, more balanced and less polarized. Also with the journey through the university I have not only learned about medicine, I have also reinforced my values and principles of citizenship, I like to understand politics because only in this way I can be sure to be integrally formed.

Siempre he sentido curiosidad con la escritura, la redacción y el habla; soy de las personas que no solo le gusta apreciar un buen momento, también me gusta escribirlo, razonarlo y de esta manera logro que lo vivido se conserve en el tiempo; hace algunos meses con orgullo, dedicación y constancia veo como mi hermana @cami.rojas se ha unido a esta plataforma, dándose a conocer y escribiendo contenido de calidad; semanas atrás mi mama @zonia-v también se unió a la plataforma y he visto como ella ha logrado reflejar su día a día en la creación de contenido; esas son algunas de las razones fundamentales por las que hoy también yo me decido unir a esta gran familia. Mi meta con esta plataforma es crear contenido de calidad, los llevaré por la cocina en mis ratos libres, les contare de como la formación académica transforma mi vida, les hablare de economía, de mis emprendimientos, de sueños, metas que aún faltan por cumplir y escribiré sobre mi vocación la medicina como servicio de ayuda a las demás personas.

I have always been curious about writing, writing and speaking; I am one of those people who not only likes to appreciate a good moment, I also like to write it, reason it and in this way I achieve that what I have lived is preserved in time; a few months ago with pride, dedication and perseverance I see how my sister @cami.rojas has joined this platform, making herself known and writing quality content; Weeks ago my mom @zonia-v also joined the platform and I have seen how she has managed to reflect her day to day in the creation of content; these are some of the fundamental reasons why today I also decided to join this great family. My goal with this platform is to create quality content, I will take you through the kitchen in my spare time, I will tell you about how academic training transforms my life, I will talk about economics, my ventures, dreams, goals that still need to be fulfilled and I will write about my vocation medicine as a service to help other people.
