Writing a book... any tips?
I don't know if this is the correct use of the site and i apologise if not, but i am writing a book at the moment but with my illnesses i am finding it really hard to motivate myself.
Do you know of any good tips in order to stay motivated and keep writing?

Hi! @makeachange I'm glad you reached out to the steemit community and took the first step by making this post. Personally, I haven't been on steemit for very long, but I came across your post and knew that I had to respond.
So without further ado, here's a little bit of my advice.

Figure out what you motivated you in the first place:
Why do you want to write a book? Why does anyone want to write a book? Writing is both time consuming and mentally taxing, and yet, if successful, it's one of the most meaningful things a person can do in their lifetime.
Find out what matters to YOU
The only person in the whole entire world that can fully understand what you want is you, and you alone. Anyone could have taken a look at your profile and guessed that chronic pain and fibromyalgia matter to you, but they won't fully grasp what it means. Hell, maybe even underwater basket weaving could mean more, but we would have no idea.
The point is, figure out what matters and place it close to your heart. Doing this keeps you focused when the going gets tough, and in your case, it will certainly help you to keep on writing.

Just do it:
There's a million reasons as to why we shouldn't keep going. There's family, friends, the economy, and even war. But if you've got a goal and a desire to reach it, by all means, reach it.
Look at Anne Frank. She literally had to live in fear that at anytime, on any day, the Nazis would discover her and her family. And yet, she kept on writing. Someone about writing in her diary must have been important enough for her to keep going, and only she could fully grasp what that was.
That's why I wanted you to find what motivates you. That way, you can stay motivated even when you want to quit
