Down to the space graveyard
When spaceships are no longer needed, you will come to a cemetery.
The largest cemetery for spacecraft and satellites is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and is 2,000 kilometers away from the nearest patch of land. This cemetery is located between Chile and New Zealand. NASA calls this spot "Point Nemo". Since 1971, space agencies around the world have crashed 260 space objects onto Point Nemo. Over the course of time, the area grew to around 17 million square kilometres. The reason why you don't just leave the objects in space is quite simple. The danger of collisions with debris is too great. There is therefore a risk of triggering a chain reaction. That's why space agencies around the world choose Point Nemo as a place to bury their objects.
It is not possible to find tour operators who offer a trip there. I suspect, however, that this place could be very interesting.
