The song is very sad due to its meaning, which is linked to the moment Gustavo and his family find out about the terminal illness of his father Juan José, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, which years later would lead him to death

At the time of receiving the news the singer Cerati was having a tea with his father Juan José and his mother Lilian Clark and had in hand the results of the latest analysis confirming cancer, that is why the song is titled "Te for three"
