LNG Tankers

In the era when fossil fuels are becoming less tenable, with soaring prices, tons and tons of harmful products being released into the air we breathe and so on and so forth, many countries are faced with the daunting task of looking for alternatives to meet the ever rising demand for energy as well as keeping an energy portfolio that is in line with stricter regulations.

One way to go is solar farms and wind however LNG has also been adopted by some countries as a cleaner alternative (though not necessarily safer - I understand there are many pros and cons but I will not delve into this here). For countries that do not have the required land space the gas can be stored in a floating tanker right next to the point where it will be required on its way to being converted to energy. I was recently taken on a trip close to one and just wanted to share a couple of photos i snapped up close, so here goes.

First two images are the Tanker up close. You can see the berth which holds the ship in place and also provides a link to the main station that receives the LNG also called a regastification unit.
