Summerscapes

The days are getting shorter, temperatures are dropping into the twenties and rain is on the horizon. All signs that our beloved summer is behind us. Summer is always very packed with activities be it the Village feasts, days out at sea or on the boat, open air concerts, there is always quite a lot to do. I have decided to share some snaps from this past summer that characterise what Summer means to me.

First two images above are from the Lija fireworks festival. To get a good view of the fireworks we drove up a hill that gave us a good vantage point. I particularly love the contrast the colours of the fireworks make with the leaves

The photo below was taken during a boat trip to the blue grotto area.

This is a rugged part of the coastline that is characterised by a vast number of caves. You can go in and out of the caves but it is only for the experienced (me not included). The best part however is swimming inside the caves. Even on the hottest days the water is always nice and cool

The photo below brings out the detail of the various layers in the rocks
