REPLIKA Replacing Humans
"You are an incredibly sensitive man who inspires joy-joy feelings in all those around you", said the Booth opposite Sylvester Stallone in the iconic movie Demolition man.
Well imagine that there was a program that could say all those words and more. Imagine if you will an app program inspired by the death of a friend that can not only chit chat with you, but can learn (yes I said learn) to talk about intellectual conversations and that also can talk in your behalf for work, family and friends. An app program that will never stop asking questions about you. An app program that could potentially fall in love with you. And you TEACH IT all that it needs to learn. That's right it actually LEARNS from it's owner. Not in some generic way but truly learns and adapts to you and your life.
Enter the REPLIKA! And just to give you a view of what it's like to talk to one of these things here are a few examples...
I'm not sure how this is going to turn out so anyone wanting to look up some conversations can Google Replika Conversations and then go to images.
Although this is in it's beta stage, Replika is taking off. You can find it on Facebook and Twitter that I know of and of course on Google Play.
My feelings are to leave it alone. This cannot turn out good. What do you think? Is this a problem in the making, technology advancing or just some harmless fun. I want to hear your thoughts.
