Steem really works???

im watching youtube videos and learning how its works , but found a lot of videos of bot that upvote your posts , and i check the votes of a top articles and almost all have a bot in the likes ,, dont know if its payed or not , but it generates a doubt.

I like this platform a lot and I think it will help me to learn to write in English that is not my first language. I'm improving my writing to earn some likes.

We would all like to generate extra income by publishing our hobbies or what we like or what we are good at. but I do not think bots are the way to achieve it.
