Steemit Open Mic Week 82
Hi friends, steemians, open mic'rs and music lovers. This is my entry for steemit open mic week 82.
Here's my last minute entry, if I've got the time difference correct. It says London is one hour ahead of UTC, so posting before 1am, should mean getting in before 12.00 UTC. I hope I've got that right.
The video is rendering, so I have 45mins to get it uploaded to youtube and posted here. 🤞
I've had a manic week, and you'd think you'd get more done, but no, it doesn't always work that way. Sometimes it works for you with precision focus in creative areas, but other times against you as you run about like a headless chicken.
Anyway here it is 'Poncho's Lament', another of my favourite Tom Waits' songs

This is one of my favorites! Great take and wonderful hat! Perfectly nailed the balance here, I could hear the guitar and vocals both so clearly. Really liked your vocals and it does seem like Tom Waits tunes are a so well suited for you. Much love - Carl
Hey, thanks Carl. Hehe, I'm hoping to set a trend amongst some of the @openmic'rs to fancy dress up a bit.
I love dressing up for parties (growing old is mandatory, growing up isn't 😉). I used to watch all the girls on the scene, bringing lots of colour into the rooms, it helped the atmosphere of fun times, so I thought I should make the same effort. Loved it ever since!
Glad you like this one so much bro, I really am. Yes I love Tom Waits songwriting, my all time #1 spot for songwriter in fact. Crosses so many genres but always unmistakenly Tom Waits. His songs so often give me a strong vision, a testament to his ability of getting the essence of the human condition in songs, seemingly effortlessly.
I've always thought if his songs were to be catagorised in photographic genre terms, he'd definitely be a 'street' photographer, again, the purpose being to capture the essence of the human condition, in its myriad of ways.
