Yesterday I ran across an interesting coin that had a very fast growing market cap. To briefly summarize the project, the application revolves around a virtual map with thousands of GeoCoins placed all over the globe. If you use the in-website app (geocoin.cash) and hunt down the coins, you'll pick one up and it is added to your wallet. The process feels similar to Pokemon Go. You can also place down a coin in your wallet anywhere on the globe for other people to pick up.

The project website (geo.money) felt much cleaner and professional than the beta app.

The project website goes into more detail on the blockchain technology and features of the app, including a proof of location system to assure that people will not create hacks to pick up coins across the globe.

I couldn't find out much about the team behind GeoCoin, nor could I figure out how much GeoCoin the team owns.

Personal opinion: I think this project is very fun and shows even more diversity and potential within ICOs and blockchain technology. Yesterday, January 2, I decided to buy some GeoCoin on Bittrex(the only exchange where they are available). Since then it has gone up over 100%. I highly encourage you to check out this project and decide if it is something that you may want to invest in.
