Midnight Letters Prompt #19: What feels urgent only because it’s midnight?

I have a midnight ritual that is more than just an urgency. Like many people around the world, I leave early for work and arrive home around 6 p.m. I like to take a shower and get things done for the next day, which I sometimes do, or if I am very tired, I get up earlier the next day. However, at night before going to bed, there is something I cannot postpone, and that is sitting at the entrance to my home and smoking a cigarette. While I do this, I try to meditate and I like to listen to my thoughts. It is a way to relax, and believe it or not, when I smoke my cigarette, I feel my body relax, and I know that all that's left to do is take a shower and go to sleep.
It's something I can't do without before going to sleep. I don't smoke during the day, nor do I need to, but at night it's different. When it's 11:30 p.m., I feel my body start to crave a cigarette, and I like to do it at that time because there's no one around, no one sees me, no one interrupts me, and I don't have to talk to anyone. It's my time to be at peace and calm.

Just like the topic we all have different things in common. Like me I love waiting for midnight to read and sometimes write my post because that's the only time no one distract me or disturb me. Glad cigarettes help to calm you down.
