A Perfect Afternoon: Merienda, Homemade Wine & Rambutan Harvest
Hello, @asean.hive community! ✨
Before I share anything, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who still supports me here. Who reads my posts, leaves kind comments, and appreciates my daily stories. 🥰

My story today is about the lovely afternoon we spent at my parents' place.
We went there for lunch and were supposed to head home right after eating.
But as we said goodbye, my mom insisted on making merienda, which is champorado.
And since she already started cooking, we stayed a little longer. It was already 3 PM.

While the champorado was simmering and I was the one stirring it, my mom also started making bugnay wine. 🍷

Have you tried bugnay before? We first tasted it in Baguio. And since we have bugnay trees here, my mom turns its fruit into wine. She even used to sell it before, and it tastes sooo good. Especially when it's been fermented for a long time. The alcohol just gets better and stronger over time. 🥰
But at that time, it still tasted sweet, fruity like juice. But in a few days, it will turn into delicious wine.
And of course, I got my own bottle. Haha

When the champorado was ready, we enjoyed it. It was so rich, chocolatey, and creamy. On top of it, I put condensed milk, so it gives sweetness. ☺️👌🏻

It was already 5 PM when we finished eating. Time really flies so fast when you're having fun and feeling at home.
Now it's time to say goodbye. We went upstairs, where my dad and cousin Vinzon were busy fixing the roof.

But as soon as I mentioned leaving, my Dad said to take some rambutan first. It was just above them.
My cousin Vinzon grabbed the dustpan to reach the high branches and pick the rambutan for us. We got a bunch, took a quick selfie, and finally headed home. ❤️

Thank you again for being part of my journey here. Until next time! Take care, everyone. ✨🩷

Champorado is one of Pinoy's favorite snacks.
