Travel Photo Diary - Brugge - Minnewater

The photo was taken in December, 2016. As I remember, Minnewater is located between the city center and train station of Brugge so if you walk to the center, you can not miss this piece of beauty. There were many swans on the Minnewater and that makes the lake look way better. Minnewater that is also known as Lake of Love got its name from a love story. I can not remember the story totally but there was girl named Minna who was in love with a warrior from another tribe and Minna's dad did not let her marry him so she ran into the forest and died there. It was a sad story. If you take a free walking tour in Brugge, I'm sure the guide will tell you the whole story. The building in the picture is called Kasteel which is a restaurant, so you can have a dinner at Kasteel while watching swans swimming on the Minnewater. Before your dinner at Kasteel, I would suggest you to walk around Minnewater Park, I'm sure you will like it :)
