THE GREATEST VIRTUE

Honesty, the hallmark of integrity

Its immediate sibling is fairness

And it gives birth to morality

Worthy is it to be exchanged for treasures

Honesty belongs to no particular clan

It's not beyond any mortal's reach

Very easy to teach and preach

But, breached and defied by each

Seeth thou a man of honesty?

Truthfulness is his regalia

Uprightness is the footwear of his

Fidelity is the ring in his finger

Probity he girds his waist with, and

Equity is what beautifies his wrist

People call him noble

Honourable is he among kins

Royal treatment they accord him

A rare gem he is to humanity

But only few matter when honesty matters
