Flip the rock
I think it would be nice to make it a habit to decorate at least one pebble on Sunday afternoons. This is actually just playing in a way, fun for the mind without thinking about plans or serious things. Okay, maybe it could be called procrastination then because I would definitely have something to have fun with that would also be useful hahaha (for example practising the piano).
Well, while we are on the subject of playing the piano, I would like to share with you a little anecdote that happened this morning at the end of my gig. One of the head waiters who was on duty today was joking (actually, he thought it half-seriously) that the Spanish national anthem or some other typically Spanish song should be played today. You know, because of the football match this evening! 😁 Since the other day I came across the title of the song Qué viva España from the post of one Hiver, who I hope will recognise himself without tagging him, I quickly found the scores for that song and played it at the end, as the last song. I was about to pack when a middle-aged gentleman approached me, handing me a banknote and asking me to play him another song. 😅 He didn't know Spanish or English, so he couldn't even tell me the name of the song, so he typed it into his cell phone and showed it to me. I told him I was sorry, but I didn't even know what the song was, let alone play it, to which he just kept saying "please, please". Okay, what can I do - I played him the song as I found the scores on the internet in the meantime, even if it was a disastrous playing in my opinion. But he was happy, so that is what counts...and I got my tip 💰😂
Back to the main subject - kindness rocks! And the day's main happening here... World Cup final in football! ⚽️ While I was playing that song honouring Spain this morning, I decided I could paint the Spanish flag on a rock for my Spanish Hive friends. And then I remembered, we also have some dear people here from Argentina! I should not forget about them either. That is how white and baby blue colours were painted on this rock.
Of course, as the first idea was the Spanish flag, red and yellow colours also had to be used. The lighter colours, such as white and yellow, always need more than one layer to cover the rock well. Here I am applying the second layer of the yellow colour.
So, two rocks are coming in this post?
Nooooo... it is just one! 😂
I wanted to join them somehow, so on one side it is the blue-white flag and on the other side the red-yellow one. As the colours and flags didn't love each other too much, I mean, my lines were not straight, I had to add some stitches. Dots. Like stitches of love! 😁
I usually don't watch football, nor have I watched the World Cup, but maybe today I make an exception. Who should win...?
The team which plays better, of course.
Here is that little kindness rock, honouring both teams and countries. Pick your favourite, and flip the rock as you wish! 😜

You should flip it five times and see who comes out the winner!
What a clever way to honor both, without choosing sides! Bravo! 😁
It depends on the side I start with. So, if I would start with the Spanish one... then 🇪🇸 🇦🇷 🇪🇸 🇦🇷 🇪🇸
😂
Well, as I live in Spain I would be glad if the red team wins but in that case we would not sleep the whole night as everyone in the
citycountry will celebrate 😁So, let the better team win ;)
would be something if argentina get disqualified because of the political banner they used
They started playing ⚽️
Que puedo decirte!!!!! Que hermosas piedras y que viva Argentina... acá sufriendo con el partido!!!!😆
Gracias por pintar esa piedra!!! Que viva!!!💗
A friend of mine is in Barcelona tonight.
I'm sure he has no sleep tonight🙂
Well done Spain!👏👏👏
I had a slight fondness for Spain, and when I saw the way Argentina played, that fondness intensified.
The better team won in all aspects of the game and behavior.
Ha sido un partido intenso, creo que todos hemos sufrido un poco 😁 yo no suelo mirar partidos, pero ayer sí que estaba atenta (❤️💛❤️ 😲🤫🤗💃🎶🚗)
Yes, well done Spain 🇪🇸 👏 they deserve the victory, so I am happy for the better team and the country I live in. We were cheering here at home as well as the whole neighborhood (those who watched from home) as there were huuuge screens placed on squares for people to watch together. Quite a night for celebration! 💃🎶🚗
Yo miraba el partido y mi madre... trataba de entretenerse, sino le subía la tensión. No he mirado nada del mundial, sólo los últimos dos partidos de Argentina y siempre en comunicación con todos mis conocidos de allá😃
Watching the match at home was a bit of a dilemma; we were rooting for Argentina because they’re from the same continent, but—as you know—I’ve fallen in love with Spain for various reasons throughout my life. Still, logically speaking, a Spanish victory was the expected outcome. I imagine the celebrations over there were amazing, and these beautiful painted rocks are a small glimpse of the passion sparked by this world-class match. What you’re doing is wonderful—you really should keep it up every Sunday.
"¡Que Viva España!" was one of my dad’s favorite pasodobles; I can’t hear that song without thinking of him. I’m sure he would have even recorded a version of it this week for Hive Open Mic.
Good morning @mipiano... I watched the game, the neighbors wouldn't let me sleep, and I ended up watching it again. The idea of decorating a rock with both flags is brilliant... I certainly would have been happy for my Argentinian friends if Spain had lost the final.
And although the post is related to rocks and procrastination... good deeds always pay off.
I hope you have a great start to the week.
If I hadn't been awake until the end of the game, I wouldn't have heard the commotion in my neighborhood after Spain scored a goal.
I couldn't believe that so many people in my neighborhood support Spain, like when Serbia was playing a game 🙂
Fifa fever is still in everyone's mind cause its fresh. Your post gave me an idea of how to be creative with rocks so i also gave it a try.
Hello Jes, one little bird told me who you were cheering for 😜. I took a photo of Shakira on the screen for you but it was blurry and her face was covered with hair in the photo so I deleted it. She dances and moves quickly 😆
About the song, I am sure you dad would play and sing it perfectly. Thank you for your comment, I am sending you hugs and greetings, and hope things after the earthquake in Venezuela will get back to be normal again soon.
Good afternoon/evening @enraizar 🇪🇸
So you watched the match twice? No sé si lo entendí bien.
Thank you. I will tell you the truth how that happened, but don't tell anyone. 🤫 I prepared two rocks, for each flag one rock:
And then I started with the Spanish flag, I and messed up 🙈🤣, I didn't like it so I ditched it. Then I had just the other rock so that's how the idea was born 😂 to use one side for each flag. Ok, I feel now better after this confession hahaha 😆
Just saw your post! Great idea 👍
I think it was the case in Montenegro too, my sister who is there now sent me the "congrats" in the moment the match finished :))
Good evening @mipano, so the improvisation went very well... I still think the idea is great... and telling the truth is always a relief. 😅
I hope you have a good night. 🤗
Everyone loves Spain and the Spanish 🙂
Creative idea. Sometimes these little moment of kindness are what people remember the most.
