Confetti fruit salad

confetti fruit salad.jpgConfetti fruit salad 25 December 2015

Christmas in Australia is often very hot 30 plus degrees Celsius. Over the years I have been making a fruit salad to share with family and friends on Christmas Day. In 2015 I was in Melbourne and spent Christmas Day with my partner's family in Bendigo. There are 33 different varieties of fruit. In the longer term I would love to be able to grow most of these, and many more, on the bit of land that we intend to buy around Bundaberg, Queensland. It took around three hours to cut up, and they were small pieces.I sent a photo to a friend and she coined the phrase “Confetti”. The name stuck. Every spoonful that the person had, could have three or more different fruits. My partner's nieces went for the fruit salad—helping themselves to many bowls.
