Oh Deer!

We sometimes see deer in the neighbourhood but only in winter when it's already dark and dreary. Once when we were taking a stroll to enjoy the Christmas lights, we had come as close as like three feet away from a family of deer. They stood so still that I initially thought they were part of some nativity decoration!

Deer in the neighbourhood often stay inconspicuous but their presence are undeniably obvious by the numerous footprints in the snow covered driveway in winter.

So, it is indeed very surprising to see a deer strolling near the garage in broad daylight in summer.
