Tranquil walk in a pine tree estate - Gnangara Pines, Western Australia

Last weekend the weather was kinder and no more gloomy, cloudy nor rainy. I seized the chance to be outdoor and one with mother nature after endless hours glued in front of screens, both at home and work.
A change of scenery was needed.

I drive pass Gnangara Pines each day on my way to work. Doesn't matter which day of the week, you can see many cars a parked out front. I now finally understand why this place has a lot of visitor.

My visit was during the early hours of the morning, only 3 other cars were parked by the time I arrived. The appeal of this place is simple - the path is flat and wide (very accommodating if you have young kids and pets), you are shaded, you can admire the tall, grand pine trees and as it is spring now, little flowers dotted among the grass.

As you arrive at the carpark, you are welcomed with these clear map. I did the Machado Loop as I wanted something sweet and short before I dash out for errands. While you are on the path, they installed signage post to help you stay on track and no deviate to a different course. Along the walk, there are dotted with benches for you to sit and soak in the beauty of being surrounded by these green giants. At the beginning of of the trail, there are plenty of picnic tables and electric barbecue grill, free for all to use.

I reckon I spent a good hour here, albeit just doing the shortest route. I was taking my time, decompressing my work week, going through different thoughts that I had to pushed aside and gain the mental space (and strength) to digest and process it.

When is the last time you had a moment to yourself with yourself?

Inside the estate, they put up the history of how the place come about and all the hard work that goes to maintain it. I was so engrossed reading it that I forgot to take a photo to share here. I guess, that way I would not be spoiling the trill for you when you do come for a visit 😉.

I'm glad I made the time to visit this place, as the tranquility it offered re-charged me for another work week. Who knows next time I might even squeeze in a cheeky walk before going to work.
