Voice

There is a voice in my head and it screams at me all day long.
Oh how it screams.
"Don't let go. Don't let him walk away"
I try everything I can think of short of a guillotine to stop the screaming.
It doesn't waver.
Why can't this voice understand that I have no choice here?
I can't make him stay.
I have to let go because he did.
Please stop screaming at me, I can't take it anymore.
