Ballina Coast parkrun, New South Wales, Australia.

Ballina coast parkrun seems like so long ago. One of our running friends said they wanted to run it for somethings different. I could not remember ever visiting the town before so were thought we might as tag along as well. Quite a few people came along from one of our running groups. We ended up staying overnight in a cheap motel, which was not the best night sleep ever, but it was good not having to get up super early. Ballina is only a couple of hours from south Brisbane, but it is still across the border into New South Wales. It was @consciouscat 100th parkrun 77 of them at different locations and the local event team where happy to help us celebrate.

Ballina is a pretty popular location with lots of tourists visiting this beach side town.

I remember it being very windy running out along the north break wall. I could not wait to hit that turn around marker and feel the breeze at my back, but it seemed to disappear when we turned. Maybe I was moving at the same speed as the wind. I would describe the course as a one lap double out and back. Pretty flat other than when we ran over the Missingham Bridge. There were toilets near the start finish area in Missingham Park. We did not have coffee with the locals because of our large group and went to where one of our group was camping and cooked up some bacon, egg and sausages.
