Rashford is coming home.

This should be an interesting story for the season.

Once United's golden child turned overpaid villain and then victim of Amorim's bad management style.

Tried to make it at Villa then back to the the big time with Barcelona but not part of their plans for this year at what seemed like a bargain price. Rashford spent last season on loan at FC Barcelona, scoring 11 goals and providing 14 assists as they won La Liga. While Rashford had previously agreed to take a pay cut to make his move to Barcelona permanent, the Spanish club ultimately pulled out of the deal for financial reasons.

Now the prodigal son is back where it all began and where he became a global superstar once more.

Having completed his mandatory post-World Cup break, Rashford will rejoin his teammates at Carrington and travel for United's training camp in Dublin.

Can he become the home born leader that we all thought he would become or will he be an overpaid flop that gets sold at the end of the season for pennies like so many other players these past few years???

It will be an interesting watch.

Personally I know that he has the talent but once he got the big money contract and was put into a leadership position within the team it all fell apart.

• The Aston Villa Stint: 18 appearances, 4 goals, 2 assists—a tough spell where he struggled for consistency in a rigid system.
• The Barcelona Renaissance: 42 appearances, 11 goals, 14 assists—a massive 25 goal contributions that helped secure the La Liga title.
• The Solskjær Golden Era: 181 appearances, 55 goals, 31 assists—the peak form Michael Carrick will be desperate to unlock again.
• The Amorim Fallout: 14 appearances, 2 goals, 0 assists—the rock-bottom period before he was frozen out and sent on loan.

Brilliant under Ole he clashed with Amorim and wasn't the only player to do so. Amorim didn't last any lenght but he did seem to alienate nearly all of the players in that short period and publicly clashed with a lot of his key players.

He did buy well which shows that he has an eye for talent but dealing with them after seemed to be a weak point. Carrick has been brilliant with that last year getting everybody back on track and a storming finish to the year but to date his signings have been underwhelming.

THere is the core of a quality team in that dressing room but we are still short a couple of defenders and a top class center midfielder.

If Rashford can bring his old self back to the club then i would say that we are very strong up front in terms of wingers and strikers with Rashford able to play both.
