The Classroom and Decentralizaiton (random thoughts)

In my social sciences class, we learned about the theory behind decentralization which prompted some questions in relation to another social sciences class I had, which focused on pedagogy, art and politics. The questions that were brought forth for myself was if a decentralized classroom- or more specifically; educational institutions- could ever be achieved. I stand a pessimist on this topic as I understand that we live in a centralized world, and the very notion of decentralization threatens the 1% of the population who control the other 99% of the world. We would have to somehow dismantle the capitalist society and build a decentralized one it it's place.
Money makes the world go 'round and there's no way around it. However, there are credited academic individuals who have proposed models in which we can move back towards a decentralized society through decentralizing 4 key factors such as communication, laws, production and finance (Here I reference the TED talk by Johann Gevers). BUT CAN WE PUT FORTH THIS PRAXIS AND MAKE OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS INTO A MODEL OF DECENTRALIZATION? Not right now, and not soon enough, but perhaps one day the world and the people in power will soon recognize the need for it.
