Between 1961 and 2009, meat consumption worldwide increased from 23 kg to 42 kg per capita per year. According to a projection of the FAO, which is also reflected in the 2013 Meat Atlas, per capita consumption worldwide averaged 42.5 kilograms per year.

True! And concider, that most people in third world countries cannot afford meat at all. I eat meat almost every day, but more and more I get bad feelings about it. Not because I become a vegeterian but of pollution reasons. Have you seen the movie cowspiracy?
