Why Do Good People Suffer While The Wicked Prosper?//The Old Path.
Many people struggle with the question of why good people suffer while those who do wrong seem to prosper. In this teaching, Bro Eli explained that earthly success is not always a sign of God's approval, just as suffering is not always a sign of God's punishment. He pointed to biblical examples of faithful servants of God who endured hardships, trials, and persecution despite living righteous lives. According to him, God allows difficulties to test and strengthen the faith, patience, and character of his people. What may appear unfair from a human perspective is often part of a greater purpose that God sees but we may not understand.

The prosperity of the wicked is usually temporary, while evil people may enjoy wealth, power, or comfort for a season, God's judgment is certain and no one can escape accountability for their actions. As believers, we should not envy the apparent success of wrongdoers but instead remain faithful to God's commandments. True prosperity is not measured by material possessions but by having a good relationship with God and the hope of eternal life. In the end, God's justice will prevail, and those who remain faithful despite suffering will receive a far greater reward than any temporary gain enjoyed by the wicked.
