I'm new in the game. But instead of just renting cards from the begining, wait until you are in 1600 (Its easy to achive just with the spellbook). Then get yourself few 2-4 cheap Gold cards, and with their rent you can usually get rent other cards and ge 5000 CP, and get better chances in your battles. @deimargd
