Is this truly the end?

Galloping towards the edge,
a sheer drop gaping into the unknown.
I have lost my reins,
frantically grabbing, trying to find
some source of control...
How did it get this way?

It seems like just yesterday,
we were picking lillies,
blowing dandelion seeds off into the horizon.
Making snow angels and
building snowmen.

How have we lost our innocence,
our kindness, and
our pure untainted love?

How did our hearts turn
to jealously, selfish desires
and devilish hatred.

How could we have
sacrificed our beauty
and chosen this path of destruction.

No control.
We gallop over the edge,
falling into the abyss...
Is this truly how it all ends?
