Did I take an interest in fire hydrants? Yes, on this walk they caught my attention and became the main subject for my phone’s camera lens. I was walking and looking at the part of the city I was passing through. Life around the world goes on, seemingly normal, while somewhere on the planet there are people experiencing apocalyptic scenes. That’s just how things are—lately, nature has been swallowing up a lot of people, furiously sweeping away everything in its path… In an instant, everything can change.

 

I focused my attention on the fire hydrants, because of the fires that can break out at any moment, and these metal objects are so essential for firefighters to do their jobs. Although they look very old, there are models manufactured just a few years ago, but they retain the traditional style with that classic design that’s recognized internationally. How many times have we gotten annoyed because they’re in the way? It’s true—they’re right in the middle of the sidewalk, and more than once we’ve had to slam on the brakes just millimeters away to avoid banging our knees. Even so, I really hope they work in every city around the world—please.


I saw four fire hydrants: one green, one red, and two yellow. The colors have a legally established meaning internationally, so they aren’t colored that way on a whim—there’s a practical reason: based on the color, firefighters can determine the volume and pressure of the water at each hydrant in the city. So whenever there’s a fire, let’s hope the nearby hydrants have enough capacity to put it out.

       

It’s also very important that they aren’t blocked. Attention drivers: Do not park any type of vehicle near a fire hydrant for two reasons: first, you’ll be blocking access to it in case of an emergency, and second, you’ll get a ticket for parking in a prohibited zone.


Emergencies don't give advance warning, so please don't park your car or motorcycle, or set up your street vendor stand in front of or near fire hydrants.

 *Saludos y bienvenido a mi blog* ¿Me interesé en los hidrantes? Si, en esta caminata captaron mi atención y fueron el principal objetivo para el lente de la cámara de mi teléfono. Estuve caminando y mirando la parte de la ciudad por donde paso. La vida en el mundo continua, en aparente normalidad, mientras en alguien lugar del planeta hay personas que viven escenas apocalípticas. Así están las cosas, la naturaleza últimamente sigue tragándose mucha gente, arrasando con furia todo lo que está a su paso... En un instante todo puede cambiar.   Yo puse mi atención a los hidrates, por aquello de los incendios que se desatan en cualquier momento y estos objetos metálicos son tan necesarios para que los bomberos hagan su trabajo. Aunque parecen que son muy antiguos, hay modelos fabricados hace pocos años, pero conservan el tradicional modelo con ese diseño viejo que es reconocido internacionalmente. ¿Cuántas veces nos molestamos porque están en medio del camino? Es cierto, están atravesados en la acera y más de una vez hemos tenido que frenar a milímetros de distancia para salvarnos de un porrazo en una rodilla. Aun así, ojalá funcionen en todas las ciudades del mundo, por favor.  Vi cuatro hidrantes, uno de color verde, uno de color rojo y dos de color amarillo. Los colores tienen un significado establecido legalmente a nivel internacional, así que no son de un color por capricho de alguien, sino que existe un motivo responsable y es que de acuerdo al color los bomberos pueden saber la cantidad y la presión del agua en cada hidrante en la ciudad. Entonces en lo que haya un incendio roguemos que los hidratantes que estén cerca tengan la capacidad suficiente para sofocar un fuego.         También es muy importante que no estén obstaculizados. Atención choferes, no estacionen ningún tipo de vehículo donde esté un hidrante por dos razones, primero que impides el acceso a él en caso de emergencia y segundo que te vas aganar una multa por estacionar en zona prohibida.  Las situaciones de emergencia no dan un pre aviso así que por favor no estaciones tu carro ni tu moto, ni pongas tu puesto de ventas ambulante en frente o cerca de los hidrantes. ¡Un abrazo!
