Sormovo Savior Transfiguration Cathedral
Sormovo Savior Transfiguration Cathedral is rightly considered one of the most beautiful temples of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Built according to the project of the famous Nizhny Novgorod architect Pavel Malinovsky in 1905, it differs from other city churches with its amazing architecture. There are only three such temples in the neo-Byzantine style in Russia. The cathedral was built on the money deducted from the wages of each worker in the amount of 1 kopek from each ruble, that's why he was nicknamed "Kopeechny" among the people. Thanks to its interesting history, inseparable from the history of the district, the cathedral is the visiting card of Sormov and the main temple of deanery.

Красиво. Прошлое и настоящее... Всё течёт - всё изменяется! Спасибо, что поделились. В Нижнем Новгороде чудесные соборы, храмы. Интересная у него история, я не знала.

Да, много всего красивого и интересного в архитектуре нашего города, к сожалению, новые здания не всегда вписываются в исторический облик, многие "классические" улицы изуродованы (иначе не скажешь) многоэтажными коробками в стиле "кубизма")))
