CapCut Has Started Announcing Their Black Friday Sales

CapCut, a popular video editing app for mobile devices, which is owned by Bytedance (they own TikTok) has started releasing their Black Friday 2025 sales ads. It is already a mess.

CapCut is also #1 in something else – how much users must pay to make use of many of those features. It is no secret that CapCut has moved many user loved options behind their paywall, while simultaneously raising the prices to access those features.

It is a business and there are expenses associated with the service they provide. I have no problem paying to access features I want. It is life.

The Ensuing Mess

In early November 2025, I started seeing a popup for a Black Friday ad inside CapCut. It is below. The price offered was $125.99 for one year. The annual price of$257.99 was stricken out. I do not remember CapCut charging that much annually and as the Linked in post above shows, it was not that high in 2024.

CapCut is raising the price of annual Pro subscriptions by around $80, or about$6.66 per month.

What my friend received

The mess comes up with different users being offered different prices for Black Friday pricing. I know I am a lower “level” in CapCut and my friend is much higher than me so that could be a factor in the pricing.
