New customizable notifications on PeakD
PEAK NOTIFICATIONS
Peak Notifications backend was created a while back as an opensource project by @peak.open
We are not the first project to integrate it. It's already been used by projects like Hive Keychain
However we have now integrated it, and have a simple but effective UI and it's wonderful
The old Hive notifications system is still the default on PeakD for now and you have to go to settings to turn on the new system
WHY?
You get notifications about many more hive transactions.
- Security aspects like if keys are changed, or vesting routes changed or even if there was a user profile change.
- You also have financial transactions notifications like transfers or delegations or actions in the internal market
And one of the biggest things is it's configurable you can turn on or off all 10 selections.
HOW TO USE?
- Go to Settings
https://peakd.com/me/settings/general - Enable the Peak Open Notifiactions
Click on CONFIGURE
You will see 10 options of what to enable.

That's very cool. I can see that in the long run we may require more control over notification as there may be too many at times. I am not sure how it would work, but perhaps we could set threshold for vote and transfer size.

I just activated it.. and now I have 0 unread notifications here. Had about 900 before 😂

One thing I think is missing are notifications for tips (like the bbh command). Ecency has those.
Also, I saw the notification for your vote (thanks for that!). That's a brilliant addition, but would be cool to filter out the non-value votes IMO.
Love it! Its activated, lets see what I "don't" get to see now :P
At some point I would like to see a slider for "votes" so you can just block the minimum upvotes / bots, but still amazing :D

I see vote value has been removed. Is it possible to bring it back? Now I can only see who voted on my post/comment, but not the vote value.
Without vote value, there's no distinction between upvotes and downvotes now. Can you do something about it please?

This was fixed yesterday soon after the release. Can you please force a browser refresh and try again?

Seems to have worked at least on the vote I have given you. The others still appear but I assume that it will stay that way.
No, the bug was only a UI glitch. It was not "really" a downvote so should be gone from previous ones too.

Maybe mentioning one self shouldn't be shown as a notification...
I don't see downvotes on that comment. And you should not see them neither after a page refresh.

I don't see it. Try to force a website refresh.
The issue of upvotes also appearing as downvotes continues to occur. We have just voted, and it is happening in the comments.
It's just a browser refresh issue. Force a refresh and it will be gone 👍

Tried all that. Bit weird really.
@asgarth feedback - can we bring back the "dust" threshold for the vote notifications in this new setting? Or at least be able to toggle that on? I don't need to see every .001 vote I am getting. I actually turned the vote piece off because it was becoming excessive.
For example, I want to see votes on my post in notifications, choose ON
CASCADING CHOICE - only votes above the "dust" .025 threshold? ON OR OFF. ON means we only see ones above that, OFF means we see them all.
Added to the to-do list as requested by multiple users. But will take a bit of work.

Also, now that I'm seeing it more, back-log item for sure but can we differentiate between Replied to Post versus Replied to Comment? I know we had that before but with the new notifications, it's all Post when I know several of them were comments.
