White mantis grasshopper

Do you have centadu? Yes!!! Of course some of you have it, and so do I, this week a pure white centadu flew into our yard right on the porch, I accidentally saw a white centadu that is different from centadu in general.

The white centadu's stature is clearly different from the centadu in general, it has a different physical body, if seen from the shape of the legs and tail it is what makes it interested when meeting it.

I am also very interested in him, so I adopted as a pet, almost about 1 week he was with us, I gave him a place to live in the form of ornamental plants that have long been grown and maintained by my wife, to this day he is still healthy and always active moves to each branch of the plant.

Its characteristics

For one week watching him, it turns out that this white centadu grasshopper has the same characteristics as a grasshopper in general, like he has compound eyes, a large size located on a triangular head and has a variety of visions with various patterns. Like other ordinary Centadu grasshoppers, they always use their eyes to detect the movements of prey

This white grasshopper also has the habit of every centadu who can shift their gaze to their vision to make the view they want. While the head can be fully rotated and is able to bend a size of 180 degrees with its axis. On his head there are two pairs of Antennas which are always used to smell or detect every object that is around him.

The food

At first I was confused about the food to be given because I saw it was not the same as grasshopper Centadu in general. But he eats himself the food he likes, such as small insects, and plants. It turns out that this white grasshopper is also a herbivorous animal, and in eating something equivalent to other insects such as fruit flies, cricket wasps, and other insects that are grouped into herbivorous animals.

In general, every type of grasshopper centadu in capturing prey he always disguises with plants around him, so potential victims do not know, but this white centadu has flaws because it cannot disguise with plants so that its existence can be known by potential victims, this is due to body color not suitable with leaves because in general the leaves are green.

Its population

In general, grasshopper centadu in general can be found in any part of the world because it is able to adapt to the conditions around it except on the Antarctic continent. While white grasshopper locusts are very rarely found and can even be said to be very rare. If you look for it is not necessarily found in every plant whether ornamental plants or other wild plants. But lately I found this white centadu on the porch of our house perched on one of my wife's ornamental plants.

I hope that this white centadu soon gets a partner so that its population increases. Its presence cannot be said to be a plant pest because its main food is small insects and selected plants, and even its feeding capacity is very small.
