Destruction Day: time to kill my house
Hi fellow steemians,
Last year I bought a house here in Belgium together with my girlfriend. Belgium is a densely populated area so although on the countryside, it's only a 20 min drive to Ghent, 25 min drive to Bruges and an hour to Brussels and Antwerp.
After the sale, we looked around for an architect and together we decided that the base of the house was too weak to renovate so we chose to demolish and build a new house from zero. This allows us to install the newest standards in insulation, solar electricity, geothermal heating and strive to carbon neutrality.
Last week, after a long wait for the necessary permits and many weekends and evenings spend on stripping the house the big boys took over and demolished the remains in less then 2 hours.
We watched and enjoyed every minute and made this time lapse as a memory.
