Hi, this is Poor Kid #1. A couple of weeks ago, I shared one milestone in my life: get a scholarship, however small it may seem. Of course, without the ever so strong encouragement from Boss J, I wouldn't have pushed through with an application for a scholarship on an online Data Science course. Weeks after submitting my application, I was notified that I was a grantee. Hoorah! Truly, "Winners don't wait for chances; they take them."

Weeks after beginning the first module, I finally got to finish it 2 weeks in advance! @ririgi did, too (in fact, earlier than me) and I couldn't be happier. This is an accomplishment; I have a lot going on my life right now (i.e. finalizing a research paper has taken its toll) and all I wanted to do was sleep. Had it not been (again) another encouragement from Boss J (he seriously was expecting a lot from me, it's a pressure), I wouldn't work my butt off and finish the module. Whew.

Besides a certificate from DOST-PCIEERD that I would receive after completion of the course, I wouls receive online certificates from University of Michigan Coursera, too, at the end of each module. This makes me giddy -- I just had to share this to you and immortalize this moment in the Steem blockchain.

To more achievements! I've always been afraid of taking opportunities (I miss a lot of them because of unnecessary anxiety), and this time, I want to do better.
