Child abuse is the physical, emotional, sexual or psychological maltreatment of a child.
It is any act of a parent,guardian or caregiver that results in actual or potential harm to a child.
Not all forms of child abuse are as obvious as physical abuse though. Ignoring children's needs, putting them in unsupervised, dangerous situations, or making them feel worthless or stupid are also forms of child abuse. Regardless of the type of child abuse, the result is serious physical, emotional and psychological harm.
Children that have been abused have the tendency to perpetuate same violence or worse on other children or even their own children when they become parents themselves
