Litecoin mania, Bitcoin bashers and Coinbase

We are all waiting for the announcements and the special surprise on Litecoin, however I do not understand the number of Bitcoin bashers that are coming out of the woodwork. At the present time the Litecoin price is set by Bitcoin, if Bitcoin falls to $5,000 then Litecoin will be back in the one hundreds again, at least in the short term. Coinbase is also getting bashed at the moment, we do not need to see a major exchange fail, Coinbase hooking up with Facebook would be huge for cryptocurrencies.
