Know your dragons
Hello Steemians, today I saw argument about are dragons in Game of thrones dragons. That inspired me to write this article where I will explain what types of draconic creatures exist in fantasy.
There are 4 types of draconic creatures of which 3 can fly. Flying are: Wyvern Dragon Wyrm Non-flying: Drake
Wyvern
Has two legs and pair of wings. Examples: Drogon, Viserion and Rhaegal in Game of thrones, Smaug in The Hobbit movies and any dragon you fight in TES V Skyrim.![]()
Dragon
Has four legs and wings. Examples: Spyro the dragon, Toothless from How to train your dragon, Smaug in The Hobbit book, most dragons from World of warcraft
Wyrm
Snake like creature with or without legs that can fly, like dragons in eastern cultures. Examples: Mushu from Mulan, Haku from Spirited away(Nigihayami Kohaku Nushi is his full name) Gyarados from Pokémon.
Drake
Has four legs, and no wings. Basically a giant fire breathing lizard. Examples: Glaurung from Tolkiens works(killed by Túrin), draccus in Name of the wind.
