My Introduction to Photography

My Introduction to Photography

I got my first DLSR camera this week and I'm excited. I'm inexperienced in the realm of photography and am trying to learn how it's done. I'm a firm believer that anything can be learned on the internet so I'm putting that to the test.

The Camera I chose is a Canon Rebel T100. It came in a bundle with two lenses (18-55 mm and 75-300 mm) I chose this one because it was a good mix between features and price.

I also picked up a tripod because my end-game goal is to be able to get clear pictures of the Milky Way and I hear that a tripod is a must have for nighttime photography. I have done a bit of research on how to take photos of the stars but I will need to learn the features of my camera before I'm producing anything decent. I'm lucky to live in a part of the world with limited light pollution outside of the city that I live in, so I will not need to drive too far out of my way in order to practice.

I mentioned in a previous post https://steemit.com/art/@rezlems/hydro-dipping-my-water-cooler that my artistic experience is limited to painting some remote control cars. Here is a shot of one of them.
It was taken inside my apartment with bad lighting but I'm happy with it for a first attempt. By "first attempt", I mean that I only deleted about 50 of them before landing on this one.

I have been taking pictures of anything that crosses my line of sight in the last 24 hours, mostly mundane objects. Here is one I took of the trees outside of my apartment at sunset.

One of my turtle, Marv; I have had her for about 12 years. I love how she seems as curious about the camera as I am. In actuality she is giving me the stink eye. She's quite friendly to others but has never liked me too much; maybe because I gave her a man's name before she got old enough to tell that she was female.

I will be enrolling in a Skillshare course for beginner photography very soon, once I have some time to sit down and do it. I will also be scouring Steem for advice and inspiration in the coming months (and years).

Thanks to @steemitguide for the excellent posts on [creating columns](https://steemit.com/steemit/@steemitguide/how-to-insert-2-columns-and-edit-text-style-with-equivalent-html-tags-using-steemit-s-raw-markdown-editor) and [aligning them](https://steemit.com/steemit/@steemitguide/steemitguide-howto-make-use-of-a-steemit-feature-that-allows-you-to-display-content-floating-left-right-and-learn-to-paragraph) in steem.
__Thanks to the team at @steemterminal for all the help they have provided me through their discord channel.__
All photos were taken by me with Canon Rebel T100 Camera using 18-55 mm lens
Thanks so much to anyone who made it this far. I will be appreciative to anyone for any advice or criticism offered in the comments. Whether it be for my photos or the blog itself. I'm still learning. Stay Tuned for more.
