Bought some Steem Power with Bitcoin

Good question. I've only ever used Bittrex and that takes a few moments. Would like to know how long it takes using the site directly.

I suppose that you have used the built-in Button on steemit - it uses Blocktrades, so you should see the puchased Steem Power in your account after the first confirmation of the transaction on the Bitcoin blockchain goes through. How long can a single confirmation on the BTC blockchain take, well that can vary, it can be very quick, or it can take a longer time... from a minute to an hour or even more.

With Bittrex or Poloniex you cannot directly purchase Steme Power, you can only purchase Steem and then you need to convert it to Steem Power. The only service that allows direct purchase and transfer of Steem Power is https://blocktrades.us and the button on the steemit website uses that service :)
