Elevators are quite amazing, they keep millions of people moving every day. Fixing and upgrading them is very involved, especially with the safety part. After upgrading an elevator, it needs to be tested with weights to make sure it is safe for passengers to ride in it. We use test carts that weigh five hundred pounds. The amount of carts depends the weight capacity of the elevator. Its is tested with 125%.
